As of this writing, approximately 12% of this country’s citizens (the United States) are unemployed. They had good, bad, or indifferent jobs, but the fact is – they had a job. These were “mainstream jobs” not home businesses. They got up every morning, left home, and went off to their place of employment. Working a home business was not in their equation; working for someone else was – and their whole livelihood depended on it.
Never in anyone’s most wildest dreams did we envision facing the daunting task of overcoming such a huge economic slump we currently face. The United States stood firm – and perhaps a tad too proud – in its ability to support itself and its people.
Now that’s all changed.

Take Your Right Step Now
==================
Our dependence on ourselves is what counts now and in the future. For those who still hold jobs, not only consider yourself fortunate, but also know the axe falls without regard to past or future performance. For those without a job, would it not have been wise if we had the foresight to plan ahead. The means to take care of ourselves. The ability to make money regardless of the circumstances going on around us and to us.
The great thing is, it’s never too late to take the steps to pursue your own home business. You need to protect yourself and your family, right? Drawing on your own abilities and resources, starting a home business has huge potential. This work from home strategy is the reason why so many flocked, flock, and continue flocking to the internet. Each person is searching for that do-able home business. Each individual and family is searching for that way to earn extra income. The desire to sever all ties to the whims and wishes of an employer have hundreds of thousands looking for possibilities online.
But not all opportunities are created equal. My personal preference to doing business from my home involves choosing something that I know the average joe or jane can accomplish. Having to learn new techniques and strategies, marketing and advertising, and cold calling were just a few of the things that scared the life out of me. And, yes during my research I found too many home business opportunities – too many to choose from. That’s why I offer up this small list of things you need to look for when making your “what home business will I pick?” decision:
o No worries, headaches, hassles. Make your choice straightforward. It’s going to be hard enough just getting started so do not pick overly complicated “systems.”
o No products to ship. Storing tons of this and that goes back to the first in this list. Choose a home business that doesn’t involve running to the post office daily – you’re trying to make money not waste it on needless trips.
o No cold calling. This is a must for most people. The last thing you want to do is have to spend not only hours of your time on the phone, but hours of time trying to convince yourself TO pick up the phone. Unnecessary. If it’s a requirement to setting up your home business, keep looking and/or thinking.
o No “technical skills.” Choosing the right home business for most people means more often than not, you possess (just like millions of others) basic to intermediate computer skills. You do not want to pick a home business that is going to require you to become an Einstein before you can even get started.

Keep It Simple & Do-Able!
==================
My last suggestion for your do-it-at-home business is to follow in the footsteps of someone with a proven track record. Anyone can make the claim that “millionaires are born overnight” online. Few have what it takes to make sure you become one of them.
