From the established to the “hey look at me” variety, locating the best small business to start online sits right at the top of everyone’s wish list. It also could easily be the most frustrating task you have ever attempted. Knowing the best from the worst can cost you time and money – both commodities that the average person has in short supply.

With this shortage of time and money, you have two options when it comes to building your small business online. You can continue to do it the hard way or, better yet, you can do it the easy way. My vote is for easy anytime.

The Best Small Business Has the Right Ingredients

Obviously the first small business option to consider is the product itself. You need to ask yourself questions like is it do-able? Is it too popular? Is it unnecessary? Will people buy it? Would you buy it?

You need to answer these questions for yourself, since every person is unique and everyone’s decisions individual. Let’s assume that the product or small business is a perfect fit for you. The next item on a person’s agenda should be the compensation plan.

As a comparison, do you realize how much effort people put into promoting Amazon products, never realizing the extremely small amount of return one would get if they could even make a sale? At just one or two percent, even should you be lucky enough for someone to buy that book or video or even television set, you are going to get peanuts from the commission side of things.
